NIELIT Shimla Centre is located in the heart of the city in lower Jakhoo area. The Centre was inaugurated on April 10, 1995 by the then Chief Minister Sh. Virbhadra Singh with the objective of sensitizing youth of the state towards IT and spread IT culture in the State of Himachal Pradesh. The Centre has been functioning as a customer centred IT organization with complete focus on customer needs and expectations so as to fulfill them with a targeted strategy and commitment. he Centre opened its extension centre at Block 24, SDA Complex, Kasumpti area in October 2011 and has been running its training activities for students and corporate participants.

Qualification / Experience :-
Junior Draftsman:
- Matric with 2 years Diploma in Draughtsman Trade from ITI/Institution recognized by State/Central Government.
Data Entry Operator:
- 10+2 and must process a one year Diploma in Computer Application from a recognized University/Institute.
Junior Office Assistant (IT):
- 10+2 and must process a one year Diploma in Computer Application/Computer science/Information Technology from a recognized University/Institute.
Age Limit :- Not Specified.

Selection Process :-
- The selection will be based on the Interview. The shortlisted candidates will be called in for an interview
- The sphere of duties/work to be performed by these outsourced employees will be same as are performed by the regular incumbents working in the Urban Local Bodies: The Junior draftsman, Data Entry Operator and Junior office Assistant can be deployed in any ULBs of State of HP
