Officials release scant new details related to suspected 'isolated attack' of Eliza Fletcher

Introduction

– Eliza Fletcher was abducted while jogging in Memphis on Sept. 2

– A man approached Fletcher and forced her into an SUV after a brief struggle

– U.S. Marshals arrested 38-year-old Cleotha Abston on Sept. 3 after police detected his DNA on a pair of sandals near where Fletcher was last seen

– Memphis Police said officers in the 1600 block of Victor Street located a "deceased party" the evening of Sept. 5

– The body was identified early Tuesday as being Eliza Fletcher

"Any kind of violence, of course, is unacceptable, but repeat violent offenders deserve a particularly strong response," Mulroy said.
