Michigan football missing two starters vs. Colorado State

By Ind Job Info Team

The Michigan football team will be without two starters for its season opener today.

Introduction

Ryan Hayes and Nikhai Hill-Green are sidelined with unidentified injuries, a team spokesman told MLive (noon, ABC).

Michigan's second-team left tackle, Hayes, was spotted out of uniform during warmups. Karsen Barnhart will start alongside Trevor Keegan.

The Wolverines are 31-point favourites to win Saturday's game, up from 27.5 earlier this week.

Hill-Green isn't shocking. Jim Harbaugh anticipated to have an answer by midweek about his soft-tissue injury. George Helow had no update Wednesday.

Michael Barrett and Kalel Mullings will play inside alongside Junior Colson. Hill-Green played in all 14 games for Michigan last season, starting six, and was anticipated to get more playing time this autumn.

Other notes: While Cade McNamara will get the start at quarterback, J.J. McCarthy is in uniform and could play today. If pregame warmups are any indication, Alan Bowman is currently No. 3 on the depth chart.
